Family Weekend of Fun

The hardest thing for me on my journey has been learning how to relax and have fun and not worry about work, bills, etc. I am learning how to enjoy free time and not worry about being “lazy.” It’s OK to do nothing sometimes and just indulge.

My family came to visit me for 4 days this past weekend (this is very rare that we all have time off and get to spend it in the same place!) and we went on some amazing adventures around San Diego. We explored a lot and genuinely had an amazing time enjoying each other’s company. Here’s a break down of our action packed weekend…

Day 1: Good Friday

We spent the majority of the day brewery hopping around SD and sharing tons of laughs. And for some reason, calories didn’t count that day! πŸ˜‰

We checked out:

  • Alesmith Brewery
  • Ballast Point Miramar
  • White Labs Tasting Room

Our favorite place was Alesmith Brewery – if you’re in the area and love all things beer I would definitely recommend the Speedway Stout…yum! My favorite thing about Friday was not having to work – just eating yummy good, drinking delicious beer, and enjoying great company!

Day 2: Saturday

I woke up early for a quick run before we headed off to a couple family gatherings and of course…MORE food! I had to remind myself it’s OK to indulge sometimes, and not to feel guilty when doing so. This is so so important for living a well-balanced life!

Beautiful roses in my aunt’s garden. Thanks for the pic Mom! πŸ˜‰

We spent the rest of the afternoon soaking up the sun and dyeing Easter eggs with the kiddos. Did I mentioned we slept REALLY good that night?!

Day 3: Easter Sunday

Perfect morning walk in Solana Beach, CA

We decided to get up and take a beautiful walk on the beach followed by a delicious waterfront brunch! Absolute perfection!

Grilled chicken and veggie salad with a refreshing mimosa from Jake’s in Del Mar, CA!

Sunday night came WAY too fast and saying bye to my family is never fun. I am counting down the days until their next visit! In the meantime I will explore more of San Diego and plan for the next trip πŸ™‚

One of the most important things to remember is to VALUE your time. Whether it be with family, friends, or just some quality alone time, make the most of what you’re given and make it count! Don’t forget to HAVE FUN and treat yourself once in awhile… you deserve it!

Until my next adventure, XOXO
